Hello Everyone and Welcome to our Launch into 2024!

As you are aware we now have released appointment dates throughout January to get your started on your skincare journey.

But what is a skin consultation? What does it involve?

At Blackabeys we have two different types of consultations: A virtual consult and a Face-to-face consultation. Read below to find out which one is right for you.

Virtual Consult

The virtual consult was designed with specific patients in mind. These are:

  • The patient that lives too far away to get to clinic

  • The patient that only wants an at home skincare regime and access to premium products

  • the patient with a hectic schedule wanting to start with at home skincare and then attend at a later day to discuss other treatments.

When you book a virtual skin consult, you will be send medical care questions in advance to complete. This makes the consultation more efficient and allows Dr victoria to concentrate on addressing your skincare needs. You will also be asked in advance to send photos of your skin in good lighting and no make up from different angles. This allows Dr Victoria to examine your skin before the consult so that the appointment can focus on how to address your concerns.

During the consult, Dr Victoria will discuss a range of different topics including but not limited to current skincare routine, previous skin treatments and underlying medical conditions and overall health. Dr Victoria also focuses on discussing your overall health and how this may impact your skin.

Finally after a discussion about your wishes and how these could be addressed, Dr Victoria designs and aims to send to you within 24 hours a fully bespoke skincare regime both for your morning and evening routine using both premium Alumier MD products and high street alternative options.

The virtual consult does not involve any discussion of other skin treatments such as skin resurfacing treatments, microneedling, mesotherapy, skin boosters, Dermal fillers and Botulinum toxin (known often as Botox). Any injectable or invasive treatment requires a full face to face appointment to discuss this further.

Face to Face Consult

The face to face consult involves a full discussion of all treatment options suitable. These can include but are not limited to:

  • premium bespoke skincare regimen design

  • skin resurfacing treatment (known sometimes as chemical peels)

  • microneedling

  • mesotherapy

  • skin boosters

  • dermal fillers

  • Botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox)

When you book your consultation you will be sent a list of medical questionnaires to complete. This allows Dr Victoria to prepare for your appointment in advance and focus the consult on your specific concerns.

After a full 360 degree medical history, examination and skin analysis, photos of your skin will be taken for medical documentation only so that treatment results can be monitored.

After discussing your skin concerns, Dr Victoria will start to build a full treatment plan, which depending on your skin concerns and wishes can include a mixture of different treatment methods as described above. A plan will be put in place including booking of the first treatment and an appropriate aftercare plan so that your results can be reviewed, assessed and future progress monitored.

Within 24 hours you will also receive a full Alumier MD skincare treatment plan which also includes high street alternatives.

How do I prepare for my consultation?

There are a few important points to make sure your appointment runs smoothly. These are:

  • Please complete your questionnaires ahead of time. Otherwise this can waste assessment availability.

  • if having a virtual consult, please take photos in good lighting with no makeup. otherwise these will be rejected.

  • if you wish to consider an in clinic treatment you must book a face to face.

  • please attend your appointment in advance on time to prevent delays and in some cases cancellations.

  • For both consult options, please attend your appointment aware of your availability around 4-6 weeks after your initial consult so that an aftercare appointment can be arranged.
